School Days

Daddy and Ezekiel on Ezekiel's first day of school.

Ezekiel wasn't crazy about carrying his bag. He can't take his own book bag b/c all the kids have to have the same canvas bag. This one is a little harder to carry than his backpack. We were looking forward to packing his little Braves backpack but we'll just save it for another day.

"Goodbye Mama." Tim took Ezekiel for his first day and I picked him up. I think he likes school a lot. He goes right in without a fuss and never looks behind and he's ready to go home when we pick him up.

This pic was supposed to be in the last post but I forgot. Ezekiel and Daddy at the pool. They got to brave the cold water while the girls watched from side. Aren't they handsome?!!!!!!!

Sunshine

Damaris chewing on her sunshine. She's a pretty happy baby, smiling every time we pick up from her nap or just talk to her. She is such a joy. She smiles the most when she's watching Ezekiel play or whenever he gives her a hug or kiss. She loves her brother.

Damaris sunbathing. The weather has turned a bit cooler so Damaris and I hung out by the pool and watched Ezekiel and Daddy swim the last time we went. At least she got to wear her cute bathing suit while she watched from a distance. Pretty in polka dots thanks to Nana.

Our two bugs hanging out in the stroller after a fun trip to the pool. Goodbye pool days. It's too cool to swim outside anymore.

A family photo-something we NEVER take. Ezekiel had to have a family pic for school the other day so we were forced to take one thankfully. I can't believe he's actually looking at the camera.

Happy Birthday Daniel!

The shock of learning they weren't going to hear Toby Mac live was just too much for Caleb, Haley, and Daniel. They just couldn't take it. Here they lie with their tickets.

Happy Birthday Daniel :(

So disappointed the concert was cancelled he threw his tickets into the river.(OK...he didn't really throw them in the river b/c that's against the law. He just really wanted to throw them.)

Well, we can lay here on the bridge, jump off of it, or get up and do something fun like eat Bojangles and go to the mall.

For Daniel's birthday, Nana bought him, Caleb, Haley, and Tim tickets to the Toby Mac concert somewhere in Virginia. They all piled in our car last week and headed off to the concert. Well, if you haven't notice there has been a lot of bad weather lately. Little did they know that the concert had already been canceled the day before. So they drove about two hours to hear Toby Mac only to pull into an empty parking lot and find out that the concert wasn't going to happen. Talk about disappointment. These kids are amazing though. Yes, they were disappointed but they made the best of it and enjoyed spending time together. Plus they got to hang out with their Uncle Zeke (Tim) for awhile- something they don't get to do too often now that he is married and has his own family. You guys/gal are great! I love you and can't wait to see you all again soon back in Blanch.

New Seasons

It's almost hunting season, so what better way to prepare than playing with daddy's turkey decoy. Ezekiel loves to play with this turkey and was so kind to share with Damaris. We will be making some trips to the country soon so Tim can do some deer hunting. Opening day is just 12 days away!

This bowl is not really hot, just in case you were wondering. Ezekiel likes to rummage through the kitchen drawers and pull out the oven mitts everyday. He walks to the oven and looks at me like "Can I pull this door down?" Of course I always tell him no and that it's really hot. We just have to pretend that his bowls and toy oven are hot. Maybe we have a great chef in the making. If he's anything like his daddy he'll be a great cook. He does have a keen sense of smell. Whenever I'm baking and he comes into the kitchen he sniffs several times and then says "Mmmmm, yummy."

This is how I found Damaris the other day. She wasn't quite ready for her afternoon nap so I let her play with this frog on the floor for a while. She loves it b/c the rattle inside it makes a frog noise whenever you move it. I heard her laughing and playing and then all of a sudden it got quiet. I went to check on her and this is what I found. I don't know how she managed to get it on her back.

Another new season in our life is well under way. We did potty training boot camp with Ezekiel about two weeks ago. These are just a few of the juice boxes he consumed that week. A lot my friends had potty trained their kids this way and it seemed like a good method for Ezekiel. We started Monday and by Thursday he was using the potty most of the time. He's still doing very good but we are not finished by any means. Thanks to all of you who called us and prayed for us and encouraged us that week.

"The Potty Train"

I was looking for a potty training chart on-line and found this one. Ezekiel really likes trains so I printed this one out for him. The train in the picture actually says Potty Train. It was fun putting all those stickers on it. Once we rounded the first curve on the chart he really started getting the hang of it.
